If you don't know me in real life, I love Crocs! AP Lang gave me an outlet for me to express my love for the rubbery shoe. So one of our assignments was to use logos to argue a pop culture debate. You probably guessed already but I wrote about Crocs! The debate was "Crocs should be banned from existence." Here's my argument. Enjoy!

Crocs have been a fad that pops up every down and then over the past decade. Every time Crocs come back around; there is always controversy. Crocs should not be banned because they promote individuality, are ergonomically beneficial, economically accessible, and practical. Crocs come in every color of the rainbow and in “more than 120 different styles for men, women, and children” (Crocs 1). With the addition of Jibbitz, little charms that go on the Crocs, everyone can have different Crocs and can express themselves freely. These shoes are wallet-friendly with shoes starting at $16. Crocs are made out of “Croslite” which has “unique characteristics that allow it to perform on both land and water” (Crocs 7). This hybrid between rubber and plastic makes Crocs comfortable for long periods of time. A big hassle with shoes is making sure they are clean. Because of this unique material, it is easy to keep Crocs looking brand new. All that is needed is soap and water. These shoes are suitable for every kind of weather. There are Crocs with fur lining the inside for the winter, classic waterproof clogs for rainy days, and flip flops for the summer. When most people think about Crocs, they think of the classic clog. These particular styles have holes for ventilation, so feet do not stink. There are many reasons why Crocs reign supreme. Whether it is a meme or an actual fashion statement, Crocs are here to stay forever.
