I recently received a Nintendo Switch as an early birthday present and the first game I bought was the highly anticipated Super Smash Bros Ultimate to go with it. This game is a fighting game that features all of your favorite video characters from Mario to Kirby to Pikachu and more. It features 74 characters from a multitude of franchises that aren't all exclusively Nintendo. This game has a cult following with many big tournaments held throughout the year. Whether you are a pro-gamer or a casual player, Smash (as it's lovingly nicknamed) is something everyone should pick up.

When I first played it, I had a bit of buyer's remorse. I have Super Smash Bros Brawl, the Wii iteration, and I never finished it or even liked it all that much. The single player mode was not good and I didn't even have all the characters unlocked. But I will say, it had the best opening song!

Smash Ultimate brought together an all-star cast which was enough for me to pick up. Once I actually started playing, I quickly found that this version did it right. I felt like the story mode called World of Light was addicting. It was really fun trying to unlock all of the characters. Despite it's difficulty, I loved it. Many people complained that unlocking characters was too hard but with the "rechallenge" feature, it's easy to try again!

The buyer's remorse went away and I found that Smash is one of the best games I have played!
